Garrett completed a fellowship and residency at Brigham and Women’s hospital, Harvard University. Dr. Steven Paulson has served as president and chairman of Texas Oncology since 2000. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is board certified. Dr. Paulson received his medical degree from The University of TX Southwestern Medical School. He received training at Harvard Medical School, at Peter Brent Brigham Hospital, and completed training at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he also did a fellowship. Dr. Alex Spira, a graduate of Harvard University, earned his medical degree from the NY University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of PA, completed his fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and received his PhD from the NY University School of Arts & Science. He is the Director of the VCS Research Institute and Phase I Trial Program and serves as medical director for the Inova Thoracic Oncology Program and as chair of The Network Pathways Committee for lung cancer. John Schwerkoske, M.D
Dr. Schwerkoske has been President of Minnesota Oncology since 2019. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology and specializes in brain tumors and hematologic malignancies. He earned his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Schwerkoske has co-authored several professional papers that reflect his interest in cancers of the brain and breast, as well as hematologic malignancies and autologous stem cell transplantation.
