Leading in Value-Based Cancer Care

Together, we Advance the Future of Cancer Care

The US Oncology Network is at the forefront of value-based cancer care. With over 900 affiliated physicians participating in The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Oncology Care Model – representing one-fourth of all participating physicians nationwide – and many others taking part in various alternative payment models, we are setting the standards for the future of cancer care. This vast experience provides The Network a level of expertise unmatched in the market, making us uniquely qualified to support practices as they transition to value-based care models.

We help practices transform operational and clinical activities to value-based care by concentrating on four main components that drive success, aligning these critical elements to maximize performance.

Negotiate Value-Based Contracts for Revenue Optimization

We have extensive experience negotiating contracts for alternative payment models, providing us the expertise to guide practices to successfully secure value-based contracts. We are skilled at bringing payer and provider goals in alignment to support improved outcomes and the use of cost-effective evidence-based treatments that drive optimal patient outcomes. We also provide practices access to our powerful analytic technologies to help them gain actionable insight from their data, enabling them to better understand the true cost and value of the comprehensive cancer care they provide.

Empower Practice Transformation with Proven Solutions

We take the guesswork out of the many changes required to transition to value-based care models, providing a detailed roadmap, along with proven technologies, resources and expertise, to make the journey a success. Our experience with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Oncology Care Model pilot program and our collaboration with the 900 physicians in The Network participating in the OCM give us deep expertise in transitioning practices to succeed in this new landscape. We provide a wealth of solutions that have been tested and proven in a value-based cancer care environment for such critical areas as evidence-based care delivery and reporting, analytics, and revenue cycle optimization.

Align GPO and Payer Contracts

We are committed to ensuring that The US Oncology Network affiliated practices are able to continue providing lifesaving drugs to their patients. One key aspect of this is to make certain drug contracts align with practice/payer contracts that recommend use of certain cost-effective, evidence-based drugs. Our knowledgeable Unity GPO staff works closely with practices and drug manufacturers to make sure we take advantage of purchasing opportunities for payer approved drugs. This provides practices value through pricing while maximizing their drug investment.

Support for All Specialties

Quality cancer care requires comprehensive treatment from a variety of oncology specialists. The US Oncology Network includes physicians from many specialties including medical oncology, radiation oncology, urology, general surgery, surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, and other key areas. We have extensive experience with value-based cancer care and healthcare contracting solutions for all of these various specialties, providing a level of expertise unparalleled in the industry. We recognize the valuable contribution these specialists make in providing comprehensive cancer care, and we are committed to developing the oncology tools, resources and expertise they need to succeed.

The Network has access to great tools, resources and support necessary to succeed under value-based contracts. The collaboration with a national spectrum of practices has been very important and will be even more so in the future.
